Thiruvananthapuram, January 5, 2026 — The Institute of Advanced Virology (IAV), in collaboration with The Kerala State Higher Education Council, successfully hosted a distinguished session under the "Brain Gain Programme" as part of its Global Perspective Lecture Series.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Nigil Haroon, MD, PhD, a world-renowned expert and Head of the Division of Rheumatology at the University Health Network (UHN), Canada. Speaking to a packed audience at the IAV Seminar Hall (Phase 1B), Dr. Haroon presented his groundbreaking research on:"The role of macrophage migration inhibitory factor in the pathogenesis of axial spondyloarthritis."
