The inauguration of the new Admin and Biotech Block in the Bio360 Life Sciences Park was done by the Hon. Chief Minister, Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan on 19th of April, 2023. The building was handed over to the the Institute of Advanced Virology during the same function.  The laying of the foundation stone for the new BSL III and Transgenic Animal House facility was also done by the Hon. Chief Minister during the function. The function was presided by Hon. Minister for Coir, Law and Industires,Shri P Rajiv. The Chief Minister said that the Institute of Advanced Virology shall be developed as one among the best virology institutes in the world.

The newly inaugurated building has a total area of 80,000sqft and was constructed by KSIDC. IAV is in the process of setting up 16 BSLII labs in the biotech building among which the works of 8 labs are nearing completion. The remaining eight labs shall be completed during the current financial year itself.
