Department of Virus Genomics, Bioinformatics & Statistics

Advances in computational technology have significant impact on modern research. New generation approaches in genomics is key to understand dynamics of virus infections at a molecular level. This department will work at the interface of technology and virus biology to support the activities of other departments. It will have key role in molecular epidemiology and employing systems biology and computational approaches in diagnostics, drug and vaccine design. The department will also play role in ensuring the use of right statistical approaches in experimental studies, epidemiological investigations and clinical trials.
