TEMPORARY PROJECT POSITIONS IN THE FLAGSHIP PROJECT TITLED – “Machine learning approach to identify novel viral entry receptors and other human interactomes: Uncovering multiple entry mechanisms and developing potential inhibitors”.

The flagship research programs of Institute of Advanced Virology (IAV), addresses the pressing need to enhance indigenous capacity in the key areas of molecular diagnosis, therapy and prevention to combat emerging viral diseases and for development of Monoclonal/Therapeutic antibodies, Advanced Diagnostics and Antivirals against medically important viruses.

Institute seeks support from highly motivated and enthusiastic candidates in the below mentioned project positions:

  1. Name of Position: Project Scientist
Age Not more than 35 years as  20.01.2025
Educational& other qualifications
  • PhD in the subject area of Computational Biology/Bioinformatics/Computer science/ Data Science.
  • Primary research publications in peer-reviewed, PubMed/SCI indexed journals of repute.
  • Research experience in developing machine learning models.
Desirable qualification Experience in developing databases

2. Name of Position: Project Associate

Age Not more than 30 years as  20.01.2025
Educational& other qualifications
  • Masters degree in Computational Biology /Bioinformatics/ Computer science/ Data Science/ allied subjects from a recognized Board/ University/Institute as a regular full-time course with 60% marks or corresponding CGPA.
  • Documented research experience in the field of NGS data analysis
  • Proficient programming skills in Python and R
Desirable qualification Research publication in the field of NGS data analysis
